Located in the heart of Kanchanaburi town, this beautifully manicured and peaceful site contains the remains of 6,982 allied POWs-Mostly British, Australian, and Dutch. These individuals lost their lives due to illness, malnutrition, and the brutal conditions of forced labor under Japanese captivity.

Located near the Kanchanaburi War Cemetery (Don Rak), this museum showcases an exhibition about the history of the Thailand-Burma railway that was built by prisoners of wars during the invasion of the Imperial Japanese Army, WWII. The educational exhibition displays information and photographs about planning and construction processes of the railway as well as the geography, living condition in POW camps, medical aspects, summary of deaths, operation, bombing and of the railway, as well as aftermath of the war.

The Bridge over the River Kwai

Visitors can walk along the railway tracks that stretch across the iconic black steel bridge. Along the way, there are semi circular platforms extending from the bridge, providing ideal spots for taking photographs and capturing the atmosphere of the bridge, the railway, and the beautiful Kwai Yai River.

Krasae Cave

Krasae Cave is located right next to the historic Death Railway in Kanchanaburi. Walk along the railway tracks to admire the scenery and take photographs of the most beautiful yet also the most dangerous section of the Death Railway, where the tracks closely follow high cliffs above the Kwai Noi River.
