Bridge Over River Kwai

The Bridge over the River Kwai forms part of the Death Railway, which was constructed during World War II by the Japanese army as a strategic route to Myanmar. Visitors can walk along the railway tracks that stretch across the iconic black steel bridge. Along the way, there are semi circular platforms extending from the bridge, providing ideal spots for taking photographs and capturing the atmosphere of the bridge, the railway, and the beautiful Khwae Yai River. 

Next, enjoy a memorable train journey along the Death Railway while admiring the surrounding rural scenery, traveling from the Bridge over the River Kwai Station to Tham Krasae Station. At the base of the falls lies a natural pool suitable for swimming, where children can safely enjoy the water. Another popular highlight is standing beneath the rushing stream as it plunges from the cliff, offering a thrilling and refreshing experience. The waterfall is at its most magnificent during the rainy season, from July to October, when the water volume is at its peak.

Access to the waterfall is convenient, requiring only a short 100-meter walk along a well-maintained pathway. The surrounding area is pleasantly shaded and tranquil, enriched by a wide variety of trees.

In addition to admiring the scenic beauty, visitors can also view a World War II–era steam locomotive displayed nearby. The exhibit commemorates the construction of the historic Death Railway, which once passed in front of the waterfall and extended into Myanmar.
